Man being pulled over for DWI

Understanding your DWI arrest is a tall order because there are many moving parts; there is the arrest itself, the prosecution by the District Attorney or City Attorney, the insurance company rates issues, the Department of Motor Vehicles Suspension, the suspension for either the failure to take the test or the failure of the test. That doesn’t take into account the many things that you may be required to do by the Court or probation if you plead guilty or are convicted.

DWIs are unfortunate and difficult to go through. You are embarrassed and scared. While we don’t condone drinking and driving, we do realize that good people can make poor choices. A DWI conviction can have a lasting, negative impact on you for years to come. If handled correctly, however, we may be able to minimize some of those negative consequences.

My firm will look at the case to evaluate whether all of the correct legal procedures were filed. We can attack your arrest on many grounds and sometimes the Police Officers make mistakes. We also look at how the tests were conducted and whether a problem exists with the machine or the officer who operated it. Finally, we look at the legal procedure of the prosecutors and the Court sometimes mistakes can be made there that help leverage a dismissal or a plea negotiation.

Often times we are able to get our clients into diversion programs if it is their first DWI arrest. These programs can be time consuming and demanding but successful completion results in the DWI being reduced to a reckless operation traffic offense. Not everyone is eligible so the sooner you contact us the better we can advise you.

Hire a lawyer who has the knowledge and experience to review your case and make sure that the police followed the law. We hold the Prosecutors and the Police to the required legal standards and procedures. If they don’t follow these standards and procedures, we have the experience and knowledge to have your case dismissed or reduced so that your record remains clear. Contact us today to discuss your case.
